Our Story
Hi Friends,
Thank you for visiting our ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER CANCER Team Page. Everyone on our team is excited for game day and has been training very hard to play from Dusk-to-Dawn on October 1st, 2011!
However, what we're most excited for is the opportunity to raise money for The Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world. All money raised will be going to crucial cancer research, therapies and treatments that will ultimately save lives.
As a team, we have a set a fundraising goal that we are confident we can reach, but in order to do so we need your help. With your generous contributions and support, we believe we can both meet and exceed our fundraising goal.
While we realize reaching our team goal won't be easy, we wanted to aim high so that we could raise as much money as possible and make a truly impactful contribution in the fight against cancer. An estimated 173,800 new cases of cancer and 76,200 deaths will occur in Canada in 2010 alone. If you take into account all of the families and friends of those affected, the number of people touched by cancer would be in the millions.
That's why, with your help, our team hopes to raise as much money as possible so that we can contribute to The Princess Margaret as they strive to achieve their vision:
