Our Story

Hi Friends and Family and Fellow Sportspeople,

As you may (or may not) know, sometime ago I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Since then many things have happened including biopsies, surgery, catheters and incontinence. All sorts of fun things. But the bottom line is that I am still alive and kicking thanks to the help of many good people and the development of new techniques and medicines. Since I have recently been declared CANCER FREE! I fully intend to play in this tournament in October and together with my fellow team-mates, hope to demolish the competition. In a friendly way, of course.

At any rate, a lot of people and equipment and research have gone into giving me the fighting chance that I now enjoy. And this does not come cheaply. Research and development are playing a big part in the sustainability of people such as me and if you can help out with a donation of any amount, we would all be grateful.

As a team, we have a set a fund-raising goal that we are confident we can reach, but in order to do so we need your help. With your generous contributions and support, we believe we can both meet and exceed our fund-raising goal.

While we realize reaching our team goal won't be easy, we wanted to aim high so that we could raise as much money as possible and make a truly felt contribution in the fight against cancer. An estimated 173,800 new cases of cancer and 76,200 deaths will occur in Canada in 2010 alone. If you take into account all of the families and friends of those affected, the number of people touched by cancer would be in the millions.

Thanks for your help and stay healthy. And if you are a man of post-mid age GET YOUR PROSTATE CHECKED!! (Please)
