Do I Need To Train?
Given the epic nature of ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER CANCER, it is recommended that participants incorporate some level of training into their regiment leading up to September 29th, 2012. While one may ask, "Do I really need to train to play road hockey?" - consider the following: Your team can expect to play a minimum of five (5) games throughout the day, which will amount to 200+ minutes of hockey. By comparison, an average NHLer can expect to play roughly 14 minutes per game. Assuming you have two sets of lines in the 3-on-3 format, you can expect to play 20 minutes per game, or roughly 100 MINUTES OF HOCKEY THAT DAY!! And don’t forget, there is no coasting in road hockey! To speak with someone regarding pre-event training, please call the Road Hockey office at 1-877-541-I'M IN (4646) for some excellent training tips. |
