Cancer will result in over 170,000 deaths in Canada this year alone. If you consider the number of friends and family members that are affected in each one of these cases, the number of people that cancer will affect this year would be in the millions.

This is WHY WE PLAY!

We play: 

• for everyone that has felt the devastating loss of a loved one to this disease.
• for those that are too sick to play, and require the proper treatment, so that they too can one day play for themselves and someone else.
• to celebrate the battle we have fought or are still fighting…we play as survivors.
• so that our collective efforts will make a truly impactful difference in The Princess Margaret’s and Canadian Cancer Society's world class research efforts.

The Princess Margaret has launched a BILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE, a 5-year initiative to secure $1 Billion to revolutionize cancer care by creating a new gold standard: Personalized Cancer Medicine.

Every patient is unique. Every patient's cancer is different. So it follows that individualized treatment will get the best results.

Changing the paradigm of cancer medicine requires a major investment.  The BILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE is the largest single fundraising campaign in the history of Canadian healthcare!
